APSACS Ordnance Road, in collaboration with the Pakistan Autism Health
Science & Research Foundation, successfully organized an Autism
Awareness Session on October 29th, 2025,
under the esteemed guidance of Major Azhar Shah and CEO
Prof. Dr. Sana Azhar (PhD). The session was led by Ms. Samana
Kazmi, a renowned Clinical Psychologist, who
delivered an engaging and informative talk on Autism Spectrum Disorder
(ASD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
The event brought together parents, teachers, and educators,
creating a meaningful platform for awareness, learning, and discussion. Ms.
Kazmi elaborated on the biopsychosocial etiological factors
that contribute to autism, helping attendees understand the complex interplay
of biological, psychological, and social elements involved. She also
highlighted the key symptoms, early identification
strategies, and effective intervention plans that can
foster positive development in children with autism and related disorders.
The session proved highly beneficial as it enhanced participants’
understanding of inclusive education, early
intervention, and parent–teacher collaboration in
supporting children with special needs. Attendees appreciated the practical
guidance shared by the speaker, particularly in recognizing behavioral cues and
adopting appropriate communication and teaching strategies.
To conclude, an interactive Q&A session was conducted, allowing participants to seek personalized advice, clarify misconceptions, and share their own experiences. The dialogue fostered empathy, awareness, and a deeper commitment toward creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all children.
